The RV drives through the gates of the newfound prison. They scope out the area and realize they will have lots of cleaning up to do. Rick and Tyreese decide to do the zombie killing while the rest of the group watches the perimeter. Andrea steps in, saying that since she has the best shot, she should go with Rick and Tyreese. Rick agrees, and they walk through the next gate. Rick and Tyreese kill several zombies with their axe and hammer, and soon, the area is cleared out. Well, at least, that's what they think. They hear a very loud sound coming from inside one of the doors, and soon enough, countless zombies come piling out. There are too many of them, so Rick, Tyreese, and Andrea need to use their guns to kill them. They quickly run out of ammo and Andrea makes a run to the RV to get more bullets.
Meanwhile, Chris and Julie are in the RV, watching over Sophia and Carl. Chris is disappointed in the role he is serving, and thinks he deserves to be out there defending the group, too. Sophia asks Carl to be her boyfriend, and Carl quickly rejects her.
That night, after Rick, Tyreese, and Andrea have cleared out most of the zombies, they burn all the corpses. Having not cleared out the inside of the prison, they all sleep in the RV once again.
The next morning, after Lori has a fit of hormones and morning sickness, Rick assigns everyone their roles for the day. This time, Rick and Tyreese go alone to clear out a cell block inside the prison. After a few scares with some straggler zombies, they come across a cafeteria with a blocked off door. They enter, only to find four prisoners who offer them meatloaf. They explain that they have plenty of food to share with Rick and Tyreese, and dozens more people if they needed to. Some time later, when Rick has brought the rest of the group inside the cafeteria, the group sits down to eat some meatloaf. The inmates explain that they have been cut off from the world since the outbreak, and they have no idea how bad it has gotten. When asked about what they did to serve time in prison, one man said for armed robbery, one for tax fraud, one for possession and selling of drugs, and the last for the murder of his wife and her boyfriend. Needless to say, Lori does not trust them and wants Carl to keep his distance.
