Dexter, one of the prisoners the group encountered at the prison, continues giving Rick and Dale the tour of the prison. They come across C block, which has plenty of cells in which the group can sleep.
Lori and Carol hear Rick and Tyreese arguing outside their cell later that day. Rick has decided that it would be a good idea to invite Hershel and his group to live at the prison with them. He reasons that since Hershel is a farmer, they can start growing food inside the gates of the prison, but Lori and Tyreese both think he's insane. However, Rick manages to convince them, and he and Dale head out in the RV.
When they arrive at Hershel's farm, Rick decides to go in alone, but he immediately sees smoke coming from the field. He runs over to find Hershel standing over a burning pile of bodies and holding a torch. Glenn tells Rick that they had been getting attacked a lot more recently and that it's getting worse. Rick explains the prison situation, and Hershel accepts the invitation to live there. Rick and Dale head back to camp.
Back at the prison, Lori immediately complains to Rick about the inmates, and how she is constantly paranoid about living with criminals. Rick talks some sense into her, and she starts bawling -- hormones.
That night in one of the cells, Chris and Julie are sitting on the floor naked, having just had sex, and they both hold up guns. Julie says she is ready, and a gunshot can be heard all throughout the prison. Rick charges out of bed to investigate, and finds Tyreese on the floor holding Julie, crying. She is dead, shot by Chris. Chris is crying too, saying it wasn't supposed to be like this. They were going to fire at the same time, but he had fired too early, and was unhurt. Tyreese is screaming at Julie to come back, begging her to turn, but Rick tells him that since he wasn't bit, there's no way for her to come back. Immediately after, Julie stirs and moans. She bites at Tyreese but he stops her. He tries to comfort her, but she continues attacking. He thinks if he talks to her she'll understand. Chris finally shoots Julie in the head, and Tyreese loses it. He lunges on Chris and starts choking him until he stops breathing. Tyreese waits for Chris to come back, sitting on the floor, talking about how he's going to kill him again when he comes back.
The next day, early in the morning, Rick leaves on a motorcycle, not saying where he was going, just that he had a realization. After he leaves, Patricia meets one of the inmates, Thomas, who was arrested for fraud. Thomas starts getting quite friendly. Meanwhile, Glenn and Maggie find a barber room within the prison and they each get very short haircuts. The two little girls, Rachel and Susie, say they also want to cut their hair, and Maggie takes them to the barber.
Tyreese, Andrea, and Glenn head into the prison to clear out the gym area, which is overrun with zombies. They begin killing them, but Tyreese, having just lost his daughter, must have had a fit of rage, because he runs right into the horde of zombies and is quickly surrounded by them.
